The basement was flooded!!!

Today was such an amusing day! I went down to the basement to put some towels in the dryer, when I discovered that the floor was covered in water! It turned out to be a fun family bonding experience cleaning it up and figuring out where the leak was. We now cannot use the kitchen sink, but at least the floor is dry and all the wet stuff is outside and there are no rainclouds to be seen!
Twisting the water out.
Savannah and I twisted this towel  so tight it was as hard as a rock and it held its own shape.

It wasn't super deep, but it soaked through a whole load of towels.

M.A.S.K.S.

So, since I'm awake at four o'clock in the morning and I can't seem to get to sleep, I have decided to introduce the name of the blog. If it isn't apparent already, the first four letters of "MASKerade" are the first letters of each of our (mine and my sisters') names. First we have Melinda, then Angela (which is a little backwards going from oldest to youngest), then Savannah, and Katrina. When we were really little we were always having little organizational meetings together and planning fun things to do. We would also discuss ways we could be a happier family and how we could help other people. After a while we figured we should make a name for ourselves. It took a good long while to come up with a name we all agreed on, but finally we decided we would come up with a word made from parts of each of our names. That's how we came up with M.A.S.K., using the first letter of each of our first names. Then, our cousin moved in with us. Her name started with an S, which made the MASK plural. We called ourselves the MASKS and every time we had a meeting, we would call it a "Masks Meeting". When we were little our efforts together didn't always show much. Now that we are older we have grown out of the name, but we still have meetings. Now they are better organized and relevant and you can see the results of our plans! This is a blog dedicated to that memory. No matter where we go in life, we will always be family and will always be in each other's hearts and memories.
